My wife was hesitant on this tour due to the name. We have traveled to several countries and have seen some great country and history but this tour really delivers on beauty of the Transylvania countryside and History. Our guide Andrei not only looked after us but was very knowledgeable of all the areas we visited. The Castles and fortresses were magnificent. I know people have different tastes in what they like to see but in all of our travels this rates as the best vacation travel package we have ever taken. The memories will stay with us the rest of our lives. Andrei became like a family member on this trip and it was emotional and sad to have to say goodbye to him at the end. I highly recommend this package to those who want to see the beauty of Romania’s Transylvania area.

I feel very lucky and extremely grateful to have discovered Covinnus Travel. I wanted to know Romania(my father’s country) and find documentation on my grandparents whom I never met and whose fate and history I did not know.

And so I embarked on this complex adventure with Daniel Gheorghita as the organizer and planner of my shifting needs. I was trying to find a balance between my search for family roots and the exploration of Romania. Daniel was flexible, patience and understanding with all of this and we ended up going on a private tour as the only possible solution. It was well worth it!

We were assigned the perfect guide, a man knowledgeable in history and a natural investigator who many times over breakfast would inform us of some family discovery he had made.

I learned so much about Romania’s history, saw so many beautiful churches and landscapes and shared many emotional moments with Florin Daciu, our guide.
Thank you all so very much. A truly awesome trip and a highly professional stuff.

Our 3-day tour with Daniel was the highlight of our entire trip. He was extremely knowledgeable and very flexible! He drove us to all our destinations, which included such sites as the Curtea de Argeș cathedral, Peleș Castle, and Bran Castle. We were given walking or driving tours of several cities (Sighișoara, Sibiu, and Brașov) and introduced to their history, not to mention the best restaurants in town. Accommodations ranged from charming, brand-new boutique hotels to a historic cottage in a remote village. The latter included a completely hand-made dinner and breakfast, and we witnessed the milk for the yogurt being delivered by a boy living across the street.

I cannot recommend Covinnus Travel highly enough. If you want an insider’s look at the most stunning sights in Romania, search no further.

We just concluded an unforgettable trip to Romania.

Though spring in Romania did not quite turn out as we expected (‘blizzards’, anyone?), we enjoyed the trip immensely. The heavy snow in the mountains resulted in beautiful frost-covered landscapes – we started our journey from Bucharest, onward to the beautiful Sibiu, the medieval town of Sighisoara, the old city of Cluj Napoca, the wooden churches of Maramures, painted monasteries of Bucovina, the stunning castles – Bran and Peles, the immensely picturesque Veliko Turnovo in Bulgaria, and so much more. We were even taken on a steam train!

Our accommodation was a delight. A (ahem…) healthy mix of four and five star hotels. But in case you think it boring, we also had the chance to experience the warmth and hospitality of Romanians during a home stay at Vadu Izei. Couple that with the unique experience of staying at a traditional Hungarian estate/manor (frequented by Prince Charles!), and you have the makings of a delightful blend of modern and traditional accommodations throughout our trip.

Special thanks to Daniel who made all these possible. A wonderful guide who never failed to crack us up, while sharing plenty of interesting and entertaining stories on the history, culture and Romanian way of life. One of the highlights was the amazing Romanian restaurants we had the privilege of dining at – who could say ‘no’ to the mouth-watering variety of soups, grilled trout, goulash, polenta or papanash? And just to make the trip more memorable, Daniel, being a ‘professional’ photographer, shared with us the excellent pictures he took throughout the trip. Oh, he did manage to capture a few decent shots of us as well.

Once again, thank you Daniel for making our trip an enjoyable and memorable one. 🙂

Covinnus Travel was awesome! I learned so much from our guide, Daniel and I would highly recommend him as your guide if you travel to Romania. If I had arranged the visit to Transylvania on my own without a travel guide, I would have regretted it. Daniel was informative and very welcoming. I recommend to go in the off season because there will be a smaller group. We were fortunate enough to have just three of us tourists and Daniel as our guide. Request him — he is great and this company is fantastic! I will look them up if I plan to return to Romania in the future.

We were a group of 18 guests travelling with Covinnus Travel in Romania. From the start Daniel and Daniel were a pleasure to work with. They were pleasant, professional and efficient. Everything worked just perfectly. Daniel Gheorghita accompanied us around the country. He didn’t want us to miss out on anything and certainly went the extra mile. It is always great to work with people who are so passionate about what they do. He knew every perfect little cake and coffee shop, the best restaurant to eat Hungarian food, the best place to do anything and where to go. His command of the English language was amazing and his knowledge of the country and its history was commendable. We stayed in wonderful accommodation and experienced the best of Romanian hospitality. I will definitely use Covinnus Travel again. Thank you Dan and Dan for everything you did for us to make our travel to Romania a perfect travel experience. We’ll never forget it.

In my last holiday I’ve been to Romania for the first time with my family. I booked with Covinnus travel and we were right, From the choices of sighting seeing, outdoor nature, historical building, hotels and restaurant. It was all planed perfectly and well organised. I can say that we saw the best of Romania.

Our guide Daniel was great from the beginning until the end, and with him we felt like travelling with family. We learned a lot from about Romania and its history. he was always on time. Always at the end of an email to answer any questions or concerns.

Covinnus travel provide great service. quick, efficient and really effortless. Everything for us went like clockwork. From an easy to use website to a seamless delivery of documentation. Great choice of packaged deals and separate itineraries. You’d be crazy to go with anybody else for your next family vacation, because I don’t think my trip would be this much pleasant if it was not for them.

We appreciated Daniels responsiveness and willingness to go the extra mile to make our family’s 7-day holiday in Romania absolutely fantastic. We were a family of 8 adults. Daniel showed us so many interesting sights, hikes, and restaurants. We loved the mountain house and the Romanian food. His Tech skills made him #1 in our book.

Sincerely, the Foster Family

I had the amazing opportunity to travel around Romania, my favorite area being the Maramures countryside… I wouldn’t have seen, experienced and explored as much as I did if I hadn’t hired Covinnus Travel. Daniel of Covinnus is a very kind, knowledgeable and fun guide. He is the perfect balance of being there to answer your questions and showing you this countries hidden treasures, as well as to allow you time to explore an area on your own. I hope to return to this area of Europe, and when I do, I will be contacting Daniel again!

Covinnus Travel is a great resource for tours in Romania. I have taken 3 tours with Covinnus Travel over the years, all of which were phenomenal. Covinnus Travel offers many unique tours through some of the most beautiful and historical areas of Romania.

My first tour with Covinnus Travel was a day tour to Sinnia, Brasov and Bran. This day tour was filled with so much beauty. The second tour I took was a 5 day tour to the Bucovina area. I saw some of the most beautiful painted monasteries there. The last tour was a specialty tour Covinnus Travel designed just for me. It was a 6 day tour to northern Romania and to the Maramures region. Beautiful mountains, wonderful cultural traditions, outstanding food and the beautiful wooden churches. There were two great highlights to this tour, first was spending Easter Morning (midnight) at a historic wooden Romanian Orthodox Church in hills of Maramures, and the second was the day trip to Barsana Monastery. The wooden churches and architecture in the natural beauty of Maramures was unbelievable. This spot is honestly my favorite place on Earth.

The tour guides I have had have all been very nice, knowledgeable, friendly and funny. They went out of their way to ensure the tour was something to my liking and they were full of information about the sites, the history and traditions of Romania.

I can highly recommend Covinnus Travel for all your tour needs in Romania. I plan to use Covinnus Travel for all my future tours in Romania as well as other countries surrounding Romania.

I would like to express again our thanks for the wonderful 8-day Romania tour we did with Covinnus Travel. They were able to show us their country and gave us the opportunity to experience so many things in such short time. We enjoyed every day of the trip. Many great pictures, which deserve special thanks for them making this vacation also mini photo-tour.

We had as our tour guide a special person, friendly & knowledgeable. He gave us the Romanian experience with no barriers, with its good and bad. We felt touring around with a friend showing us his country, first hand, and not just touring with a tour-guide. We’ve been able to see all the “must have tourist attractions” which were in the plan, but in addition, he added many more of other local, authentic flavors to the trip. We enjoyed doing the “traveler” stuff, not just the “tourist” stuff, as he defined it.

They were flexible with our plan during the planning stage and during the trip itself. They took us to places where they actually know people, allowing us to explore the real Romania, first hand. Talking with local people at the villages, meeting the Gypsy family, going to Ileana’s guest house where we had the chance to see & taste home made food – the home-cooked bread at their wood fire oven in the yard, the jam, brandy, food and more.

We spent 6 days in Romania with Covinnus Travel. We are a couple both aged 30 and we don’t normally use tour guides but we found Covinnus Travel to be fantastic.
Even before arriving in Romania, all their emails and answers to our queries gave us a lot of confidence. It was obvious they put a lot of time into planning our itinerary and corresponding with us.
They designed a very well organised itinerary and there is no way we could have seen all that we did on our own, either in a rental car or by train/bus, and we do a lot of travelling and are good organisers! For example, it was great to have an experience of meeting gypsies and buying a small souvenir from them, which we could not have done without Daniel’s help and bargaining skills!!
We travelled to Transylvania and the Maramures with Covinnus Travel (having travelled to Bucharest and Brasov on our own up from Bulgaria) and loved both areas for different reasons.
Our guide took us to some great restaurants and sites that we would not have found even though we had a guidebook and did a lot of research before we travelled to Romania.
The accommodation that they booked was really nice from the lovely hotel in Sighisoara to the really nice traditional pensione in the Maramures area.
Daniel was happy to leave us on our own or spend time walking around with us showing us things, and let us decide the timings of things so we felt it was our holiday. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble. He was also very entertaining & knowledgeable about the many sights of Romania, and has an easy-going sense of humour which comes in handy on long car trips!
Daniel was a safe driver, and had a good comfortable car. We thought his prices were very reasonable overall.
Daniel is very professional and thoughtful and after our trip sent us many photos he had taken of us and at the end of the trip arranged a special ‘surprise’.
We would recommend Covinnus Travel to anyone planning a trip to Romania.

When we told our family and friends that we were planning on spending sixteen days in Romania with a single guide this year for our vacation, some of them thought we were a little bit crazy to be spending so much time in a single country (and a rather untouristed one at that) with just one other person. Could there really be that much to see in Romania? Sixteen days was a lot of time to spend with someone—what if we didn’t get along with our guide? Our family and friends did not, however, know Daniel, who could make sixteen days in Romania entertaining and adventurous.
From our first email contact with Covinnus Travel, they were very responsive to our requests, and at the same time were able to suggest places to visit that we hadn’t read about in our research on the country. They worked with us to plan a trip that focused on our particular interests, and patiently revised itineraries for us when we thought of alternative things we might like to do or see.
During our trip, our tour guide had an uncanny knack for taking us to particular sites just before hordes of tourists would arrive, so that we were often the only visitors at an attraction. He always had very good recommendations for us when it came to our accommodations and meals and directed us to the hotels and restaurants that provided the best quality and value. His English is excellent and we enjoyed his explanations of the historical significance of each place we visited as well as our informal conversations with him about various issues of relevance to Romania today. While we genuinely enjoyed his company, he also knew when to give the two of us some space in order to enjoy a dinner or afternoon by ourselves. He drove us over 3,150 kilometers during our trip, and impressed us by being a very good—and very safe— driver in a country that presents some unique driving challenges.
What we appreciated most about Covinnus Travel, however, was that they actually cared about us. We were happy to make new friends and wholeheartedly recommend Covinnus Travel to anyone considering a trip to Romania.

We have just returned from a wonderful ten-day trip to Romania. The best way to see Romania is with a tour company and Covinnus Travel was an excellent choice. From the moment we saw him waiting with our names upon arrival until our departure through security our tour guide took care of every detail (including going to the bank for money exchange so we did not have to do it). We found him to be an outstanding and safe driver, extremely knowledgeable, courteous, patient and has a great sense of humor. We made some changes to the itinerary as we went along and he was most accommodating and flexible. He was sincere and caring that we were happy and satisfied regarding every aspect of the trip.
We are Travel Agents from the USA doing research for future clients. Though most people think of only the Dracula and Transylvania story we found Romania to be an amazing country filled with many other historical sites, picturesque topography from the flat farmlands to the mountains, and warm and friendly people.
Romania surpassed our expectations.
We highly recommend Covinnus Travel.

I had wanted to visit Romania for a while because of it’s picturesque landscapes and rural life.
On the recommendation of a couple from our church I decided to use Covinnus Travel too. They showed us more than we possibly would’ve seen on our own. Romania surpassed my expectations. I was completely unaware of the German influence in the country.
Our tour guide did a good job since he was flexible with what we were interested in.
Anyone who wants to visit Romania will be well served by Covinnus Travel.

We just returned from a 12 day trip to Romania with Daniel Gheorghita as our guide and driver. It was obvious from the start that Covinnus Travel had spent a great deal of time planning and preparing for our visit. The trip exceeded our expectations in every way. Daniel was a wonderful, considerate, flexible, knowledgeable guide. His choice of routes led us through photo-ops in abundance. The hotels were all very good and the food was excellent – simple, fresh and tasty and the people were friendly and helpful. The northern part of Romania with its horse drawn wagons, wooden churches, painted monasteries and gorgeous scenery is unique and very worth seeing. Transylvania’s walled cities, castles, ski resort, made for another interesting aspect of this country which offers such a variety of places to see. We did not get near the Danube Delta or the Black Sea and now wish we had included those two areas. We were sorry to leave this beautiful country.

The whole six of us very much enjoyed our trip. Romania is an exceptionally beautiful country! I think we all had different highlights but my personal favourites were Peles Castle and Rasnov Fortress – it was particularly amazing to see it illuminated in the darkness.
Our experience with Covinnus Travel was a very positive one. We all found you to be informative, good humoured and patient.
We had a fantastic holiday and would have no hesitation in recommending the Romanian countryside, Bucharest and Covinnus Travel to anyone – in fact we would actively encourage it!
Once again many thanks for the trip. We will hold many fond memories of it.
As for Bucharest, I feel it is a city that is, unfortunately, grossly underappreciated. Aside from the traffic problem, we found that many of the unfavourable reports and comments made about it to be completely false. We found people to be very friendly and helpful, the food good and a diverse range of architecture with many, many beautiful buildings. I think that the negative remarks often made of this city stem largely from peoples attitudes rather than the place itself.
